Celebration of Student Writing

Celebration of Student Writing

 Tuesday, April 22 from 8:00am—5:15pm
Student Union Lobby

What is the Celebration of student writing?

The Celebration of Student Writing: “science fair” meets writing. Students showcase their class writing assignments in creative and multimedia formats. Instead of students reading words from a page, they remix their writing and present it in fun and interesting ways to not only their fellow classmates, but also to the university community. Also, just like a science fair, awards will be given to the top 3 exhibits.

Who can participate?

This year the CWR is calling for current and past WRIT 250 students to show-case their multimodal project based on their research prospectuses.

What are the requirements to participate?

  • Must be an undergraduate student currently enrolled in WRIT 250 or who has already completed WRIT 250
  • Must have completed or be in the process of completing an individual and original research project for the research prospectus assignment in WRIT 250
  • Must complete the enrollment form by April 1st. It can be found at cwr.olemiss.edu/celebration
  • Must re-present the research prospectus assignment as a multimodal exhibit (e.g. PowerPoint, Prezi, video, poster, trifold, interactive activity, etc.)

Did you say awards?

Yes! Awards of $200 for 1st, $150 for 2nd, and $100 for 3rd place exhibit.
